Job Overview

Status: Temp. Full Time

Environmental Services & Infection Control
Deliver thorough cleaning, disinfection, waste management, and laundry support in compliance with IPAC standards, PIDAC guidelines, and healthcare safety requirements.

Resident & Campus Support
Provide respectful interaction with residents, support Independent Living areas as required, and assist with evening requests, events, and logistical needs.

Health, Safety & Compliance
Support compliance with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, occupational health and safety regulations, outbreak management protocols, and property safety requirements, including weather-related conditions.

Evening Operations & Communication
Monitor facility phone lines, complete required documentation (including temperature checks), and appropriately escalate issues in accordance with established protocols.

Emergency & After-Hours Response
Act as a first point of contact for after-hours emergencies, coordinate responses with leadership and clinical teams, and support the completion and documentation of evening fire drills.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 yrs. experience with demonstrated certificate or knowledge in building systems/Maintenance including diagnostics and problem solving of fire, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Building Automation and Security systems
  • General knowledge of WHMIS, Health and Safety
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and work independently and as a part of a team.
  • Computer skills are an asset along with embracing new technologies
  • Satisfactory work and attendance record required
  • Ability to repair basic Electrical, plumbing and HVAC
  • Able to complete basic room repairs including patching, painting, furniture, and bed repairs
  • Maintenance On call on rotation

Pay Rate: $27.56 – $29.01 per hour

We are seeking individuals who share our commitment to seniors and bring expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Accounting (preferably CPA designation)
  • Legal
  • Strategic Planning, Project Management, or Project Development

Ideal candidates will also demonstrate:

  • Alignment with Parkview’s mission and values
  • Understanding of nonprofit governance and fiduciary responsibility
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • A connection to the local community and an interest in seniors’ issues
  • Willingness to dedicate approximately 5–10 hours per month to board and committee work
