The Village

1How can I be sure that my name is on the waiting list?
Once we receive your completed application, we’ll send a confirmation letter. You’ll get periodic updates, and we’ll contact you for pre-screening when a unit becomes available.
2Is there a fee to be on the waiting list?

Yes. There is a $25 non-refundable annual fee per list to cover administrative costs and confirm serious interest.

You can add or remove your name from any list at any time. However, each time you make a change, your name is re-entered based on the new request—so it’s important to be clear about which list you want to be on.

3Can I delay offers of accommodation?
Yes. Send us a letter specifying the date after which you’d like to receive offers.
4What if the unit offered isn't my first choice?
You may decline and wait for your preferred option. After three declines, your name moves to the bottom of the list.
5When will I be offered accommodation?
Offers are based on your application date. As of 2025, the typical wait time is 2–3 years, depending on unit type and turnover.
6How many people are ahead of me on the waiting list?
We don’t give out waitlist numbers as applications constantly change. Wait time, not number, is a more accurate indicator.
7How long do I have to decide once offered a unit?
Typically, you’ll have about one month to accept and prepare to move in.
8If I accept, when do I move in?
Rental leases usually start on the 1st of the following month. Life lease move-ins depend on your arrangements and unit readiness.
9Does Parkview offer subsidized housing?
No. However, you may apply for rent-geared-to-income subsidies through York Region at www.york.ca or call 1-877-464-9675.
10Does Parkview offer tours?
We do not offer in-person tours, but virtual images of typical units are available. Members of the Seniors Active Living Centre are welcome to explore programs and visit the Café.
11What programs and amenities are available?
  • Café (lunch service) Tues, Wed, Thurs, 10am-2pm
  • Library, puzzles, movies
  • Fitness room and activity spaces
  • Billiards, shuffleboard, woodshop
  • On-site hairdresser and foot care

For more details, contact our Program Coordinator at 905-640-1940 ext. 2024.

12Is there parking for residents as well as visitors?
Yes. Rental residents may lease outdoor parking. Life lease suites have underground parking included. Cluster bungalows include a garage.
13Can residents move to Parkview Home if they need more care?
Parkview Home is a separate, licensed long-term care facility. To apply, contact Ontario Health atHome. Visit our Long-Term Care page for more.
