Job Overview

Position Summary & Responsibility:
The Registered Practical Nurse provides excellent resident and family centered nursing care in Long Term Care environment in a culturally sensitive manner.  Establishes caring, therapeutic relationships with residents and their families to attain or maintain optimal functioning by promoting health and/or treating health conditions through supportive, preventative, therapeutic, and palliative  means.

Qualifications:

  •  Current Certificate of Competence issued by the College of Nurses’ of Ontario in good standing
    •    Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification
    •    Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, experience in Long Term Care setting an asset
    •    Able to establish therapeutic relationships with Residents and families
    •    Commitment to continuous improvement, learning and evidence-based practice
    •    Demonstrated resilience to adapt in an ever-changing environment
    •    Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
    •    Highly motivated, compassionate individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    •     GPA an asset.  Good oral and written Communication.
  • Strong time management skills, excellent attendance record

Pay Rate: $30.98/HR – $36.10/HR

  • Accounting (preferably CPA designation)
  • Legal
  • Strategic Planning, Project Management, or Project Development

Ideal candidates will also demonstrate:

  • Alignment with Parkview’s mission and values
  • Understanding of nonprofit governance and fiduciary responsibility
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • A connection to the local community and an interest in seniors’ issues
  • Willingness to dedicate approximately 5–10 hours per month to board and committee work
