Amenities & Services

Parkview Village’s Hair Salon offers services by appointment. Foot Care is also available on a weekly basis. On-site Banking takes place at the end of each month; TD comes to the Village for your banking convenience. These are in addition to the amenities offered to the residents which include: a Fitness room, pool table, & shuffle Boards. There are many common lounge areas in the building for your use. Barbeques are also available by reservation.

The Last Resort

Parkview Village’s Last Resort (Convenience Store) is open Monday to Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. It is operated by volunteer residents and offers dry and canned goods as well as bread, milk, and butter!

Library

Parkview Village has a well equipped library by a fireplace with large print books, magazines, cassettes, videos, available to residents on the Honour System.

Recreational Activities

Most of our activities are arranged by our Program Co-ordinator and include: movies, musical presentations, exercise classes, crafts dancing, monthly birthday parties, and bus trips. Or, if gardening is more your style, you can reserve a garden plot or solarium space. There are also card and board games to join almost every night.

Activity and Craft Room

There are a variety of activities to enjoy in this room. Scrabble, Bingo, Crafts, Bible Study, quilting room, and Tea Time to name just a few things to do.

Fitness Room

Parkview Village residents can enjoy a communal space to work on keeping fit and to socialize.

Worship Service

A non denominational worship service is held every Sunday at 7:00 p.m. in the Auditorium.

Gardenview Café

The Café is open for lunch Sunday to Friday from 11:30-1:30 pm.

Rental Accommodation

  • 90 one bedroom and 34 two bedroom apartments, completed in 1986.
  • $1150.00/month + Program & Amenity fees, for a 544 sq. ft., one bedroom apartment.
  • $1414.00/month + Program & Amenity fees, for a 781 sq. ft. 2 bedroom apartment.

A mandatory monthly charge of $29.70 (amenity fee) per unit, $21.82 per person (program fee) per month, and $22.00 per person (Wellness fee) is added to the regular rent or maintenance fees to fund these services. If parking is required there is an additional charge of $21.82 per space.

  • 6 apartments are modified to accommodate residents requiring accessible units.
  • The Regional Municipality of York determines annual rental increases.
  • Some of the one-bedroom apartments are offered with rent-geared-to-income subsidies. Residents receiving this subsidy pay approximately 30% of the total household income for rent.

Application / Waiting List Information

Parkview Housing and York Region Subsidized Housing application forms are available at the information table located in the front of the Parkview Village office. Once your completed application form is received, your name is added to Parkview’s waiting list. Subsidy applications forms are to be mailed directly to York Region.
